Choose How Gratuity Is Calculated (Before or After Discount)

I. Purpose

Allow cashiers to choose how the gratuity fee is calculated when processing customer payments.

II. Instruction Steps

1. On the main screen, go to Settings.

2. Select Tip.
   In the Gratuity section, enable Auto apply the gratuity fee to larger parties of <…> or more people.

   • By default, gratuity is applied to parties of 6 or more guests (the number of guests can be adjusted).

   • The default gratuity rate is 20%.

   • The system provides two calculation options:

     • Before applying discount (default):
       Gratuity amount = Gratuity % × Total items

     • Cashiers can change this option if needed.

III. Notes

• If the restaurant previously enabled gratuity and later disables it, the system will still display the most recently applied gratuity settings, including:

  • Number of guests

  • Gratuity rate
