When serving large groups, restaurants often apply a fixed gratuity rate and split it evenly among guests. However, in some cases, larger groups require more staff and a higher gratuity rate, or guests may want gratuity calculated based on each guest’s payment amount.
To address this, botX has improved gratuity calculation, allowing restaurants to:
Quickly edit the gratuity fee during payment
Split gratuity based on the amount each guest pays
On the management page, go to System settings → Location Settings.
Under the Purchase/Sale tab, select Gratuity and check Calculate based on paid amount.
On the POS, after clicking Pay, choose Split by guest and select the guest to collect payment from.
Click Pay, then:
Select Next payment to continue charging the next guest, or
Select Pay more later to finish.
To allow quick gratuity edits at checkout, the restaurant manager must grant this permission.
On the management page, go to System settings → Role management.
Select the employee to grant permission to.
Under the Payment tab, check Add/Change gratuity fee by order.
On the POS, after clicking Pay, tap the Gratuity amount and enter the new fee.
Click Done to apply the change.
