Set Up Barcodes, Print Labels, and Order Items Using Barcodes

I. Purpose

This feature allows managers to assign barcodes to menu items, print barcode labels, and let staff add items to orders by scanning barcodes. This helps speed up ordering and reduce mistakes.


II. Instruction Steps


1. Set Up Barcodes

On the management page, go to
System Settings → Location Settings

  1. Open the Sales tab and click Edit

  2. Turn on Manage menu by barcode

  3. Click Save


a. Generate Barcodes for Existing Items

  1. Go to Menu → Menu Offline

  2. Select an existing item

  3. Either:

    • Enter a barcode manually, or

    • Click Auto-generate barcode

  4. Click Save


b. Generate Barcodes for New Items

  1. Go to Menu → Menu Offline

  2. Click Add → Regular Item

  3. Fill in the item details

  4. Either:

    • Enter a barcode manually, or

    • Click Auto-generate barcode

  5. Click Save


2. Print Labels

a. Set Up the Printer

  1. On POS, go to Settings

  2. Open the Printer & Template tab

  3. Under Print & Barcode Label Ticket, select a printer

  4. Click Custom Template

  5. Adjust margins if needed

  6. Choose which information should appear on the label


b. Print Labels

  1. On POS, go to Barcode

  2. Select the item(s) you want to print labels for

  3. Click Apply quantity and enter how many labels you want for each item

  4. Use the or + buttons to change the quantity for individual items if needed


3. Order Items Using Barcodes

When taking an order, staff simply scan the item’s barcode.
The item will be added to the order automatically.
