This feature allows restaurants to set up pricing-related rules such as taxes, tips, service charges, and gratuity. These settings directly affect how bills are calculated and how the POS behaves during checkout.
Follow these steps to set up tax rates:
Step 1:
Go to System Settings → Location Settings.
Select the Purchasing / Sales / Tax tab and click Edit.
Step 2:
Add and save tax rates:
Click Add tax rate to create a new tax rate.
Click Save or Save & Add.
Follow these steps to set up tips:
Step 1:
Go to System Settings → Location Settings.
Select the Purchasing / Sales / Tip tab and click Edit.
Step 2:
Configure tip options:
Enable Show tip suggestions on the bill.
The system displays tip suggestions as percentages for customers to choose from.
Click the Add icon to add or adjust tip percentage options.
Choose how tips are distributed:
Tips directly
Employees receive 100% of the tips left by customers.
Percentage
Tips are shared based on a percentage you define.
Click Tip percentage settings
Select an employee and enter the percentage
Click Save
Follow these steps to set up a service charge:
Step 1:
Go to System Settings → Location Settings.
Select the Purchasing / Sales / Service Charge tab and click Edit.
Step 2:
Click Add service charge.
Step 3:
Enter the required details and click Save or Save & Add.
Follow these steps to set up gratuity:
Step 1:
Go to System Settings → Location Settings.
Select the Purchasing / Sales / Gratuity tab and click Edit.
Step 2:
Enable gratuity for large parties:
Turn on Apply gratuity for parties of <number of guests> or more.
Step 3:
Set the gratuity percentage:
By default, gratuity is calculated before discounts:
Gratuity = Percentage × Total item amount
You can change this option if needed.
Step 4:
Apply tax to gratuity (if required):
In Apply tax to gratuity, select the tax rates to apply.
Click Save.
1. Can service charges be applied at the restaurant?
No. Service charges are currently only supported for Online Ordering.
2. Is there a limit to the number of tax rates?
No. There is no limit.
3. How do I apply one tax rate to all menu items?
Select Default when setting up the tax rate.
1. When does gratuity apply?
By default, gratuity applies to parties of 6 guests or more at 20%.
2. What happens if gratuity is turned off?
Even when gratuity is disabled, the system still shows the most recent gratuity settings (guest count and percentage) to help staff complete checkout correctly.
