I. Purpose

This feature allows restaurants to set up pricing-related rules such as taxes, tips, service charges, and gratuity. These settings directly affect how bills are calculated and how the POS behaves during checkout.

1. Tax Setup

Follow these steps to set up tax rates:

Go to System Settings → Location Settings.

Add and save tax rates:


2. Tip Setup

Tax

1. Can service charges be applied at the restaurant?
No. Service charges are currently only supported for Online Ordering.

2. Is there a limit to the number of tax rates?
No. There is no limit.

3. How do I apply one tax rate to all menu items?
Select Default when setting up the tax rate.


Gratuity

1. When does gratuity apply?
By default, gratuity applies to parties of 6 guests or more at 20%.

2. What happens if gratuity is turned off?
Even when gratuity is disabled, the system still shows the most recent gratuity settings (guest count and percentage) to help staff complete checkout correctly.
